Jason Mraz And Meghan Trainor Drop New Love Ballad ‘More Than Friends’

New love song alert—Jason Mraz has teamed up with 2018 iHeartRadio MMVA performer Meghan Trainor to bring fans his latest single, “More Than Friends.”

As the newest early-release track off his forthcoming album, Know, “More Than Friends” stays true to Mraz’s signature acoustic style and recounts the feelings of a pair of friends who are interested in taking their relationship to the next level.

“It feels like we’ve been friends forever and we always see eye-to-eye/ The more time we spend together, the more I want to say what’s on my mind/ Take it easy ’cause it ain’t easy to say I wanna be more than friends,” Mraz sings as the song opens.

Though a late-season release, “More Than Friends” gives off the vibe of a budding summer romance. If Mraz and Trainor,  who are no strangers to lovey dovey tracks, ever decide to create an official music video, we picture camera shots of stolen glances, long car rides, and a steamy beach sunset.

The two Grammy award-winning singer-songwriters seem to fit the roles perfectly, as their harmonic voices come together at the chorus to create a breezy, summery sing-a-long.

In an interview with People, Mraz and Trainor recounted their experience working together on the single.

“There are few artists as talented, joyful, and present as Meghan,” Mraz said. “She was very inspiring to work with.”

In a similar fashion, Trainor has nothing but positive things to say about her “More Than Friends” partner.

“I loved working with Jason. I had to pretend I wasn’t freaking out the whole time as I’m his biggest fan. Not only is he so talented, but he’s extremely humble and kind too,” expressed Trainor.

Know, Mraz’s upcoming album, is expected to hit your stream waves on August 10. Correspondingly, Treat Myself, Trainor’s highly-anticipated third studio album, is expected to debut later next month on August 31.
