DNCE Bring The Party To The MMVAs With ‘Kissing Strangers’
If you’re going to throw the biggest block party of the year, you need to invite the band that brings the party wherever they go. That’s exactly what we did with DNCE, with the pop rock band turning the energy level at the iHeartRadio MMVAs from a 10 to an 11. It’s red cup time.
The four piece, made up of Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle and JinJoo Lee, burst onto the music scene in 2015 with their earworm “Cake By The Ocean” and have been keeping fans dancing ever since.
Pulling double duty tonight was frontman Joe Jonas, who split his time between co-hosting the show with Canadian singer Alessia Cara and achieving rock star status with DNCE.
DNCE hit the stage with an explosion of confetti and smoke pillars, with lead singer Jonas acting as a non-stop ball of energy throughout the entire performance of the band’s latest hit, “Kissing Strangers.” Lee also stepped in midway through the song to deliver a killer solo fit for the huge, hyped-up MMVA crowd.
Tonight marks the second time Jonas has ruled the MMVAs, with the singer performing and hosting back in 2009 with his brothers Nick and Kevin.
The 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs are hosted by Alessia Cara and Joe Jonas and feature performances from Camila Cabello, Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Julia Michaels, Post Malone, Jazz Cartier, Niall Horan, DNCE, and Arkells.
