Bebe Rexha Wows With Double Performance Of ‘I’m A Mess’ And ‘Meant To Be’ Featuring Brett Kissel
Fans have been left with chills after Bebe Rexha’s performance medley of “I’m a Mess” and “Meant to Be,” featuring Canadian country artist Brett Kissel and introduced by This Is Us‘ Chrissy Metz.
Opening with her emotional bruiser of a track, “I’m a Mess,” Rexha—decked out in a killer black leotard—took the stage with a crew of backup dancers while playing to the song’s video’s American Horror Story-esque vibes. Rexha was later joined by Canadian country musician Brett Kissel, who wore a classic black cowboy hat (what else?) and took over Florida Georgia Line’s verses during her smash hit “Meant to Be.” The pair’s smooth vocals blended effortlessly with one another, bringing a little bit of country to this year’s awards show.
Bebe Rehxa has been all over the charts with feel-good love track “Meant to Be,” combining country and pop to create a single that’s turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the summer. Fresh off her incredible performance at Lollapalooza, Bebe Rexha has been enjoying a huge 2018 thanks to the debut of her first full-length album Expectations.
This year marks Rexha’s debut iHeartRadio MMVAs performance as well as her first iHeartRadio MMVAs win, as she also took home the Best Collaboration award for “Meant to Be.” The track is also nominated in the Song of the Summer category.
The 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs, hosted by Awkwafina, features performances from 98 Degrees, The Beaches, Bebe Rexha, Brett Kissel, bülow, Meghan Trainor, Shawn Mendes, Kris Wu (吴亦凡), 5 Seconds of Summer, Alessia Cara, Halsey, and Marshmello featuring Anne-Marie.
